I was banded 9-4-2009 and I am interested in meeting other banded people. I go to a local WLS support group, but I am the "LONE BANDER"!

I am kinda sorta considering something like this. I don't know. What I do know is that I need to lose about 130 lbs!

My neice had it done 2yrs ago. She is very happy with it.

I have heard you have to be at least 100lbs overweight in order for them to do it, however, I know a gent who is way over 100lbs, he probably weights in at @500? and they will not do it to him until he loses 100lbs. Too big a risk during the surgery.

not necessarily, it also depends on the other issues you might have. Mine is diabetes and BP.

and yes, that gent needs to lose some before surgery, but he is actually more of a sleeve candidate than a lapband. I hope he finds someone who can help him.
