I'm new here. Am a srapbooker at heart BUT am dabbeling in quilting. Love it too! I found the pattern Bargello done in the Antiquity line by Michael Miller. Was pretty excited about it until I read where you have to be careful because of the glitter on the crowns. Got me to thinking perhaps this quilt would not hold up. Has anyone made this or seen the fabric or have any input at all. I would appreciate it. THX!

The antiquity quilt by miller does nothing for me. I like to make my own. EXPERIMENT!!!!! IT'S SO MUCH FUN.

It says for confident beginners and having made a bargello I think you should have no problem making this. I did not see the warning about the crowns the glitter over time will fall off but the manufacturers usually make the fabric look good with or with out the glitter. I would not worry. If you get stuck please PM me I can help you out!!

some of the michael miller fabrics have some glittery detail, i have used many of them michael miller is one of my favorite designers. after time (my youngest graddaughter's princess quilt is 5 or 6 years old now) the glitter does wash away, but her quilt is still very pretty and still has some 'bling' to it. i would not worry about it. the fabric is beautiful with or without the bling.

o.k. ladies - thx for the reply. What constitutes a Bargello? I thought this was the only one and now someone refers to having made a Bargello before???? Thx again - love the responses, learning all the way.

Bargeloes are boring and yet fun. Choosing the fabric is fun and arranging your pattern is fun and exciting. The boring part is cutting, strip sewing, then strip sewing again when you're strips are cut. I just finished one in teak, black and purples. I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sophie
