in the hen house today?!! No joke! Shell is a little "sandy" feeling.

Have no new layers out there, Don't know of any bird big enough to have laid it that would risk the wrath of the girls.

Is this one of Ester's? http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-113771-1.htm

Maybe it's going to be a little people (dwarf) chicken.

Are they real? Or plaster? Maybe someone is playing a joke on you.

A second look looks like a little hole or crack on the far right one.

They look like chicken eggs to me do you have a hen that could have laid those? I have seen some with a sandy feel to the shell from farm chickens

My mother had chickens all the time I was growing up. She said the little ones (from regular sized chickens) were either the first or last eggs that a hen would lay. They sure are pretty brown eggs, my favorites.

No, guys, these are all real. I have 4 hens and get eggs every day. Wish I'd taken a picture of these all in the one nest box.

And that's not a hole or crack in the right one. That hen always adds a little bit more shell to the bottom end of hers!

I agree with MawMawB - old ranch girl from Southern Alberta, and that is always what we were told as well.

OR did you scare the egg out of the chicken...LOL

Is one of your hens a little Banny Hen? They lay small eggs.

Well, you could be right. Certainly their first eggs were like that, but I didn't know the last ones would be, too! And yah, a couple of the girls are 4 or 5 yrs old.

Thanks
