Hi my friends,
We are taking a road trip from California to Oklahoma, and will be stopping in many places, one of which is Amarillo. Any places I should stop that you know of? Quilt related? Western wear, etc??

We will also be stopping in Santa Fe New Mexico (I think) so if any "cant miss" places, please let me know......

There's the Big Texan Steak Ranch. The 72oz steak is pretty gimmicky, but the steaks are great and the atmosphere is fun, especially for families or large groups.

Never have shopped in Amarillo, though, so I don't know a thing about quilt shops. ;)

Palo Duro Canyon with the outdoor theater is cool! Probably need to get tickets in advance. The only quilt shop I know of is Sister Scraps...a nice store, but nothing uniquely theirs. Lots of MODA fabric.

If you go to Palo Dura, you should visit Canyon, Tx. There is an awesome museum dedicated to the western movement. http://www.panhandleplains.org/ is the website for the museum. Have fun. We went to get cool when we were camping in Palo Dura and thoroughly enjoyed it.
