I am visiting a sister and her husband... I'd like to make a hostess gift for her.. she is a quilter too, so she has coaters, towels, wall hangings... does anyone have a suggestion for something quick and unique... thanks... Quilter 1234

A little basket filled with fat quarters and a few patterns?

Anything that she doesn't buy for herself. I always have a list of things that I want but just never buy for myself (usually the latest gadget or book).

A tote filled with some yummy goodies would be nice.

I agree with the tote....a quickpieced patchwork tote in her favorite colors (so she'll reuse it) filled with either homemade goodies if you like to bake OR some gourmet goodies from a local shop would be perfect! We have a shop near us with lots of homemade jams/jellies/BBQ sauces and baked goods that I like to shop for things like this. OR, when we travel to other parts of the country, we take some Southern goodies like grits from a mill in the mountains and peach preserves with us. One sister insists on Martha White flour or her biscuits in Seattle are horrible....so we take that.

A basket with FQ's or a jelly roll or maybe a couple of charm packs! Perhaps some thread in it... I am always running to the store for thread myself. Maybe a pretty little bag with a gift certificate to her favorite LQS.

A jacket for an oatmeal box that will turn it into a vase, a jacket for a champagne bottle or wine bottle, the actual bottle of wine, a quilted box to hold anything she wants, but filled with chocolates as a gift, shoe bags for when she travels.

Add to the above - a coffee/tea mug with coordinating mug rug.

If she likes tea, how about a teabag wallet with some nice teabags to keep in her purse? Mamabird3 made a tutorial.
