I am really a newbie but have read tutes and checked out other info on this site. I came across a Circle Denim quilt from Blue Jeans Quilt Gallery from Doreen in Bismark, North Dakota. The only thing different I did was cut one (instead of 2) circle. When I am finished with my GS circle denim quilt I will post.Several yrs ago my 78yr old Aunt got me started an applique quilt of the umbrella ladies that is still not finished.Anyway I have kept this stach of jeans for yrs. I am wondering what to do with the tops of the jeans that is left, some of the double sewn seams & pockets that I have left. I have seen lots of purses made from them and found a pattern for a quilt using pockets. I also have several pairs of old overalls, the kind with the bib. Any one have any other ideas for their use

tote bags, sewing satchels, purses are all great choices-
organizers with pockets to hang on the back of a car seat- or stroller-
diaper bags

my granddaughter requested a quilt with lots of pockets---that could be fun---made with bibs, jeans tops, ect---now you have me thinking...:)

I saw a fabulous tutorial on using the tops of jeans for making baskets - you can also make a quilt with them and use the areas with the pockets so that there are pockets on the quilt. It's a neat quilt that I saw somewhere - probably here I'm sure lol

I saw a cute pillow made with the jeans top, belt through the loops, back pocket for remote, bandana in one of the pockets.

We used them as a beginning 4-H sewing project. Cut off at crotch, separate and sew a straight seam at the bottom. Use two loops of cotton cord through the belt loops to create draw string beach bags. Kids loved them. We brought in fabric paints so they could give theirs a personal touch.
