Has anyone ever used minkee for the backing and quilted on a long arm? Just wondering if that would work or if it's too stretchy.

i have had alot of quilts done with minky on the back it can be a little tricky but if you know not to stretch it out to much its beautiful thank you to my LAQ's who have worked with it for me

I have. It stitches beautifully. The only caution is to be sure the direction of least stretch is attached to your rollers. Minkee is stretchy both ways, but there is quite a bit more in the crosswise. Here is a picture of the back when I finished.

Came across this tutorial for a minkee quilt at Sentimental Stitches. There's 9 or 10 parts to the tutorial and I'm including both locations I found for it..

Doesn't sound to difficult, except I'm not to kool about using spray adhesive.

i have many many times- those in my world love quilts backed with minkie- and i always long-arm quilt them- just remember to make it (taut) but not stretched- you just want to smooth it not pull it out of whack

There are a couple of LAQ around here who swear by Minkee backs -- and the quilts are yummy.

Thanks so much for all the help! I can't wait to try this stuff out!

OK, then, is it impossible to work with on a regular little ol' machine? I want to try but haven't worked up the nerve yet to waste my money in case it's the pits.

And if you were to use Minkee on a regular machine, would you not bat?
