My brother-in-law passed seven weeks ago and I am looking for patterns and ideas for making quilts using his shirts. Does anyone know of a link where I might be able to find this information? I've promised his wife that I'll make one for her and one each for her adult children (niece and nephew). I love them dearly and want to help sooth their grieving souls.
Thanks for any info you can pass my way. :) |

The above is a good one. There are many posts on this board on this topic, if you do a search you should find lots of info. I'm sorry for your loss, hope this quilt will bring comfort |
Be sure to check out Bonnie Hunter's stuff.

Thank you for this wonderful piece of information and for your kind words. I've bookmarked the link and will study it in more detail. Thank you!

Thank you. I'll try to find some of Bonnie's books on Amazon. I just LOVE a new project and this will be a first-shirt quilt. Many thanks once more.

Thanks for your kind words and the link to the site. I think I wrote a response to you in the wrong space the first time. Sorry about that. Have a wonderful week!

So sorry for your loss.
Yes, there are quite a few good examples posted on the board. Here are just a couple: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-109429-1.htm http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-114839-1.htm It's such a wonderful thing for you to do. |
Thanks, Jo. I love the first link. With a little bit of study I might be able to pull it off! Thanks for your kindness. You girls are the best!

Sorry for your loss. You will find lots of information on here.

I made one last summer from the BQ pattern. The 12 1/2" squares came out of the backs of plaid shirts, the smaller parts from blue dress shirts, and the strips between everything I think was a red cotton robe.
