Hi,

am working on a lap robe for my son. This is mean to be a "random" pattern. Would you suggest putting a border on this, and if so, what color?
Thanks.

I like the rich colors

and that you are keeping the 9-patch blocks all oriented in the same direction.

Border - maybe a narrow border of one of the light colors and then a wider border of one of the darker prints.

My first thought is to use some of the white/light color and finish with the dark for last border. Beautiful quilt, love the colors.

I would put a border on-maybe a print with all those browns and gold if you can find one, or just use the lighter color for about a 4" border, then sew scraps of all the fabrics in the quilt at random for a scrappy binding. Looks great!!

I think a nice dark brown to frame it in would be nice than one of the fabrics that you used for a larger border...than another one of the fabrics for the next border. Your quilt is beautiful!

I would use that white as the inner border, one inch.
Then one of the browns or the gold as the larger outer border.
It is a very nice quilt.

I agree. Maybe 2 borders, but the light one first.

I agree, this would make it pop :)

Oh, this is going to be a beauty! Can't wait to see it finished.

if you need to make it larger a border would be the way to do it- but if that is not an issue- it sure looks good as is. a border will complement and frame it.
