These are some of my oldest pieces. They were from when I was first married and made things out of mahogany. I no longer do that because of the way they harvest the wood. The first picture is of a Chest for my wife, a wedding present when we started out marriage. It must have impressed her because she is still around and gets an occasional new piece to keep her on the team. The Kneehole Secretary has a Cherry Locking Jewelry Chest on top of it. That would not necessarily have been done in the period. But things evolve as they did back then. There was a lot of mixing and matching of styles. Only the wealthiest customers ordered complete suites of furniture at the same time. The other pieces are my Chest on Chest of drawers and a shared Kneehole Secretary. All of these pieces have period correct brasses, and locks. The two Dining Room China Cabinets are Cherry.
