I placed an order with Hancocks online this morning. This afternoon I get a notice from them that they have to do a "security verification" and will contact me within the next week. Until then they will not be filling my order. In all the years of online shopping (and I online shop ALOT), I have never had a company say that. What does it mean? The website had no phone number to call and ask, so I sent them an email to ask what the heck was going on. The credit card went thru with the payment and I had plenty of money in the account. Anybody ever get one of these from Hancocks? Virg

never heard of that before

Nope -- is this Hancocks of Paducah or the other Hancocks? I ordered from Hancocks (not Paducah) yesterday and didn't have a problem.

Never mind. they just emailed me back. Problem was, the order was for over $200 so they do that will all orders over that much. I suggested next time they put that in the original email they send out. would have prevented me from wanting to blow a fuse! :) Virg.

Are you sure it's not a scam? I'd be very careful.

glad no scam was involved

No scam. They just needed to add a little more of an explanation to their emails. The cust. service guy said he would pass it on. Virg

As a former cop, this is a small red flag. Maybe an employee wants to use your card and will call back/and or collect info. Any company would want to process orders ASAP to keep them happy. Even over Christmas holiday it doesn't take that long. I would call back, as for a supervisor, and ask for clarification.

Personally I oly order from Hancocks of Paducah never from the other Hancoc sites. I have never had anything like this happen either. I would have went online and found the phone number and called right away.
