I read this blog quite often. If you page down you will see her info on needles with batiks. And a great set of needles she found at a quilt show. Looks interesting

I just read what she posted about the needles for handquilting batiks and agree. I'm actually handquilting a batik quilt and found that the John James Gold n' Glide size 11 are perfect for it. I've been using these for about 9 months now and highly recommend them. They slide through batiks like butter! Only downside is they are slippery little devils and found that wearing a finger cot (get a box at a pharmancy) is the best way of grabbing ahold of the little sucker. LOL

I've never heard of a finger cot. What is it?

a finger cot is used to protect a cut on your finger, it looks like a condom and rolls the same way. You can get them at any drug store.
I am a big fan of the john james needles and did my first applique with batiks...had no problem. Use silk thread and you will be all set.

I agree. And it changes all the time. She spends a lot of time keeping it current. I have it as a favorite on my favorites bar for when I feel like surfing.
