Finding "Friend" Function and the old "Buddy" function
I am reading the most recent post of the FAQ(Nov 8) and am trying to find the "Friend" tool. I clicked on the 2 links provided in the "how to" and also searched in my profile and settings but having no success. So here I am hoping the Help Center can help.
I think I understand that the Contacts replaced Buddy list, but is there a way that a buddy/contact can access each others Bookmarks. (as in the old board). I'm thinking, not, but hoping maybe yes???? Thank you Susan |
Buddy list/Contacts
Is there a place for buddy list? I looked thru all ten pages here and didn't see any info on it so I apologize if this is a previously answered question.

I don't know either - great question.

Click "Settings" tab up top
Then scroll down and look on left-hand side for "networking", there you will find "contacts" |
You'll find your contacts aka friends now by click on "settings" up top, then scroll down the left hand side of that next page, look for "networking"...contacts are shown there.

Thank you, that was it!

you're welcome :)

Hi Ellen,
Thanks for trying to help, but I'm still clear as mud with my 2 questions. On the FAQ page, it appears that Friends and Contacts are 2 different functions. I am able to add a contact, but in the old board when you clicked on their profile, their list of bookmarks became available for my viewing. That list is no longer on the profile page that I can see. I don't use a PDA, just good old fashioned computer. Here is what I found in the FAQ page: "Friends and Contacts What is the difference between a friend and a contact? A friendship is a mutual, two-way relationship between two users. It is initiated by one user and accepted by the other. A contact is a one-way friendship. This could be where the other person does not accept the friendship, a friendship request is pending, or you do not wish to be friends at this time but want to show them as a contact only. I don't understand what one does and the other doesn't, or the benefit of one over the other. If you or anyone else has more insight to offer I'd appreciate it. And then again, maybe I'm overthinking this, like I do everything. Thanks for answering. Susan |
I'll be watching this thread, I don't know, can't find anywhere to send out a friends request.

I found the info on this link http://www.quiltingboard.com/faq.php...iends_contacts, but I don't see a "befriend" link on people's profiles like it says. Perhaps that feature hasn't been enabled yet?
