Recommendations for a tablet

My husband wants to buy a tablet for me for Christmas but we can't decide what one. We're looking at Samsung Galaxy, Motorola Xoom, Ipad, or HP Touchpad. The Touchpad is about half the price of the others but since HP doesn't make tablets any longer, I guess support is an issue with them. What tablet do you use and what do you like/dislike about it?

Thanks for your advice! :)

I love HP products; I'd contact them and ask them about support. I've never had an issue w/support even if I didn't have a warranty. They supplied the pads for Project Runway this past season. I'd check.

I have a kindle and an IPad... The kindle is good for reading - there is no glare. The IPad is great .. I use it everyday. I have read books on the IPad and it is fine if you are not in the sun...there is a glare.... Obviously kindle is less money but if I had to choose I would select IPad. I would check out the new Kindle Fire I think it is a good imitation of an IPad !!!

I have an I-Pad and love it, and recently converted my die-hard laptop using husband to an I-Pad and he can't believe how wonderful it is.

They're easy to use.
Tons and tons of app's - including lots of free app's.

And the best part I think is that because all the App's have to use Apple's software and loaded on Apple's website (I-tunes), their apps are currently safer than a lot of the android based apps.

I am slowly converting everything I have to an Apple based product. When this PC dies ... it's going to be replaced by a Mac. I've had it with PC products.

I would consider the ipad if you can afford it. Great product, great support.

EVER SINCE I'VE GOTTEN A COMPUTER (I THINK IN 1990) I'VE HAD A MAC I figured if they are used in elementary schools it's gotta be simple. And it is. I've now had three mac computers and( oh, I mean 4) I would never buy anything other. I've never had a virus, whenever I called support they were great. The only thing I found is that they are more expensive.

Go for the ipad as the there are more apps and very versatile. I use mine for work, play, and looking up quilt info. The others are no comparison to the ipad.

Thanks for the advice. I think he decided on the HP for now since it was so much less expensive. Then if I like it, next year, he can take the HP and buy me a different one! I appreciate everyone's help.
