Need PC game suggestions similar to Zoo Tycoon

I have a couple of retired relatives with cognitive impairments who like PC games; however, the games cannot be too difficult. For example, Nancy Drew mysteries were a no-go. Zoo Tycoon was challenging at first, but with time became enjoyable. The computers are PCs with an XP operating system. I'm looking for older tried-and-true games that are less expensive, but will look at newer more expensive games too.

Any suggestions?

Could they manage any of the "hidden object" type games? You can try some for free on BigFish games or Popcap or Spintop. They also have other types of games like you mentioned. Good luck! Great idea!

Thanks, Kitsie. I went to BigFish and got some ideas for searches on Amazon. Found Farm Frenzy Forever and Plantasia, which should fit the bill for some variety.

Fishdom is not real complex and is fun -- I spend some mindless time on it and my DGS has been playing it since he was 4.

I go back to Bejeweled over and over again. Chuzzle is also good. Both are not so much problem solving as strategy, and lots of luck. Sims has always kept my kids (and me) entertained for hours.

There's a good range of free games at all levels on online-games-zone.com.

The Oregon Trail is easy to acclimate, good for all ages, and educational (just don't tell).
also, Mall Tycoon can be fun for the shopping oriented person, and one of my personal faves - Roller Coaster Tycoon, where you build a roller coaster park.

Thanks, everyone. I got enough ideas here to accommodate birthday presents and next Christmas. Hadn't heard of a lot of these programs!
