storing photos

I've moved and our new home is smaller.I don't have space for my pictures. I have boxes and albums full. 60 years worth. I thought about trying to get them on the computer but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. I would love some suggestions. Thank you very much. FayZ

If you are computer savvy it is a good idea to get them uploaded so you don't lose them in case of disaster. I would look for furniture that has storage capacity for the actual photos. There are wonderful ottomans that open and end tables that nice storage beneath them and don't overlook file cabinets. You can always through a tablecloth over a shorter file cabinet and put a lamp on it for an end table. They even have bed frame at Ikea that the headboard slides sideways with storage shelves. Good luck!

Definitely store on the computer online. My house burned and I lost all the pictures of my children growing up, me growing up and of my parents.

Over the last couple of years I copyed all my photo's to memory sticks then made copys for all my kids, if anything happens to the one I have I can get repacement. they are easy to add new photos to.

I load my pictures on the computer and then cut CD's for others to store. My mother in law has several in her safe for us.

Thank you for your replys. I like the idea of the end tables. I think I might try the computer too. I'm not computer savy but I can learn. I did figure this site out with everyones help. LOL. Sorry Kat Sews. I know personally about fires. Lucky for me we had a nice basement and most of my pics were down there. I did lose some. I don't know what a memory stick is but I'll find out.You all are great people. FayZ
