Well I had/have this little "Obsession' with the books called

"Material Obsession" Modern quilts with traditional roots...Love that theory.

The projects start out very simply then work up to more difficult patterns. Of course this quilt is the first pattern in the book. It's called Avalon.

I wanted to showcase those lovely prints. I pieced this a few summers ago..and have been waiting for the perfect quilt plan to come to my mind. Sometimes I think to hard about these things. all in due time.

I quilted all over swirls except in every other block I quilted a swirly feather that I thought would fit the theme of the quilt.

I had a nicely pieced Kaffe backing fabric....but in the last moment I decided to put a plain white back on the frame and I am so glad i did. It showcases my quilting in a fabulous way!
