finding a quilted teddy bear pattern
 

anyone know where to find a 'quilted look' pattern for a teddy bear (Medium to large size)

Do you mean a stuffed animal? I would think almost any teddy bear pattern would work, with quilted fabric. I would trace the pattern onto the fabric, then stitch just inside the cutting line, before cutting out the pieces. As long as the pieces are fairly simple, the little extra bulk shouldn't be a problem.

Use any teddy bear pattern ... and pre-quilt your fabric (or buy ready quilted).

I've seen old family quilts given a new life, where the still good parts, are used for the stuffed bears!

I have created my own fabric by piecing scrap squares ..then I use this as I would any other fabric using my tedxy bear pattern

Ditto! And I've also seen ADORABLE ones made from old chenille bedspreads (remember them back in the day?!?).

Me too!! I'd forgotten about the Teddy's done with those!

... The old chenilles were so cuddly and I loved them as a kid!

I still have a chenille bedspread that only got out of the cupboard when my Mom had company! Not one of the all over chenilles, but wide spacings between the cotton fabric and with large ropes of the chenille spaced. It made quite a pretty design and was quite a showpiece. And still is!

Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and help with this new request. 107 dolls have now found a home with a very sick child in need...only 93 to go and I'll reach the new goal of 200. I have 24 doll bodies sewn and a small group of ladies from my little church will help me stuff at least several of them this coming Monday. Six are boy dolls, and I have clothes and hats for them. That means 36 dresses and 36 hats and 36 faces for those 18 girls. 12 faces for the boy dolls (1 on each side front and back for the boy. That means 7 toward the new goal gone now, 2 hanging out in the spare room, and 24 to be brought to life. That is 33 then and that is almost 1/3 of the new goal almost, once I am able to dress them.
After the 33 are ready (and maybe inbetween), I will perhaps make some smaller things for the smaller little guys that are sick or such as that, bunny and teddy bear style, before moving forward to the dolls once more. Staying busy keeps me out of trouble.
