Singer 99K

Someone from my past who owes me money has offered me a Singer 99K and I don't know anything about them. I actually didn't expect to ever collect on the debt and had long ago decided to think of it as a gift since I am in a better financial situation than he is. Anyways, what can you tell me about these machines? I was attracted to it because it is little and would be more portable than the machine I have. What is their value? I would probably only use it for piecing.

I have one and they're nice little machines. I paid 35.00 for mine from goodwill but I'd have probably paid a little bit more for it. I see them for 50-75 quite frequently.

In great shape, $25 - $50. They're great little machines and I like piecing on mine. :)

They are great little machines, depending on the condition, if it has a reverse, attchments and a case I would pay from $25 to $125. they are 3/4 size machine but are up to the job. The 99 is still on my wish list.

I paid $45 for mine about 9 months ago and it was in a case but had no attachments or manual. I downloaded the manual and cleaned up the machine. It is a great machine, I love it.

I wouldn't trade mine for anything..

They are little, but heavy. I would not want to be carrying one to classes very often unless you are strong and healthy! They are short shank, and attachments are easy to find. They are good machines, in my opinion.

Since you didn't expect to receive your money back, take the machine and enjoy it. The value of the machine should be what it means to you.

heavy but won't slide off the table. I have a little Spartan I just love - lent it to my DGD and she won't give it back. She thinks it is way too cute.

I paid $90 for mine, but it was in really good shape. It's a 1956 model, so it has reverse. Love it!! PS, it is pretty heavy.
