I can eat ice cream sandwiches by the box full. I found this simple fix when I get tempted.
Take a chocolate graham cracker, pile on Cool Whip (I use French Vanilla flavor) and top with another chocolate graham cracker. Wrap in plastic wrap and freeze. I feel so much better eating one of these then an ice cream sandwich. I can have four if I want them. :D |
Great idea. I'm going to try it. Even better would be to use yogurt. I wonder how this counts for diabetics.

I use CoolWhip because it's much lower in calories and fat then ice cream. I know it's CoolWhip and so not diasappointed in taste as I would be using the low sugar/low fat ice cream that I would be expecting to taste like real ice cream. :D To me eating less calories and not feeling deprived is all a mind game. I have to know I am still having what I want to eat but it's not a lousy substitute to remind me it isn't the good stuff.

I don't know if it changed but I don't eat a bowl full of it. A couple of tablespoons on a cracker doesn't bother me at all. :D

You could try making a verson with low fat chocolate cookies and frozen vanilla yogurt. and then freeze it. Something different once in a while!

Try using a buttery cracker (like Ritz) and the lemon drop yogurt. When I lived close to the Mexican border I would frequently buy a lemon cookie in Mexico that tasted like that. The filling was a tart/sweet and the cookie itself reminded me of a Ritz cracker. Now I am hungry and don't have either on hand.
