Attention all you modern quilters....

I know you're out there! I'm really interested in making a few modern quilts and am especially interested in the one on page 96 of the book "Sunday Morning Quilts" by Cheryl Arkison and Amanda Jean Nyberg. It's a scrappy quilt that calls for low volume fabrics with light or neutral backgrounds and interesting designs. The overall effect is a soft palette, and therein lies my problem.

I'm not able to obtain these modern fabrics locally, so I'm wondering if there are any good websites that offer these lovely graphic designs. Perhaps there are certain designers that I could look for on Fabric.com or Thousandsofbolts.com. I'm at a bit of a loss at the moment, so I thought I'd tap into your collective wisdom.

There are sooo many lovely quilts in this book and I am eager to get started, but first I need some great fabrics! Hope you can help me out here!

Go to this blog,http://www.craftsy.com/blog/2013/06/low-volume-fabrics/, it has lots of info on modern and low volume fabrics. Perhaps she can steer you in the direction of where to find some.

Here are websites that offer low-volume fabric bundles:

http://www.fatquartershop.com/store/...rent_Ids=0,881

These should give you some ideas of manufacturers and fabrics.

I've never heard of "low volume" before. Very interesting.

Interesting concept. It would be nice to see a finished "low volume" quilt.

I have never heard of "low volume" before, but I have been doing it for a while (blame it on starting my stash with fat quarters).

Low volume- what does it mean exactly? Low contrast, low intensity? Inquiring minds want to know. I have always thought of them as nuetrals.
