I need HELP piecing circles!

I am making a Bullseye quilt along with my quilt group. It entails sewing a circle on a square block but I am noticing that the square portion is wavy....if that makes sense. I am very careful I don't pull on the circle or square fabric, the actual stitches look fine, I don't see any tension issues. Is this common when sewing circles? Thank you, any help will be very appreciated.

Are you sewing the circle into the background fabric? Sharon Schamber has a great tutorial on youtube for inserting a circle into a background square that is machine sewn. If you are machine appliqueing the circle, someone posted a video link last week from an instructor from Craftsy. She prepared a perfect circle using a circle template, fabric and foil. After pressing the circle, it was ready to machine stitch onto the background square.

Starching both the circle and the square will help quite a bit. Are you using a satin stitch or a zigzag stitch? This will also tend to make it wavy.

if appliqueing, you may need a stabilizer behind the stitching. i use a paper towel then tear it away after i have sewn it on.

That's what I was going to say, your missing stabilizer. I use scratch paper, remember to shorten your stitch so when you pull the stabilizer off you don't weaken your stitches

thank you for all your replies! I switched to a walking foot and it seems to have fixed the problem!
