Which 3 feet do you use most?
As a fairly new quilter, I am seeking advice on outfitting my sewing machine. Which 3 machine feet do you use most often when piecing and quilting? And is the darning foot (metal jobbie with round hole) essential for FMQ? What about the walking foot? What about the 1/4 inch quilting foot? Applique foot?

I was going to say which TWO feet do you use most, but I figure a few smart alecks would say the ones attached to their ankles.

1/4 inch, and walking foot I use the most, sometimes the darning foot but not quite ready for FMQ on a regular yet

1/4" foot, walking foot, hopping foot for fmq.....I have the Stitch in the Ditch foot, but don't like it.

1/4" foot, walking foot and hopping foot. I don't think I've ever used anything else for a quilt...

The foot I use the most is the 1/4" foot. There are three other feet that I use often. They are the open toe foot, for appliqué, the walking foot, and the Bernina Stitch Regulator foot for FMQ. I have just about every foot made for my machine; but the 4 feet get constant use.

I agree with everyone here, the 1/4" foot with a guide, the walking foot and a hopping foot for FMQ. If I am working on a pattern that requires a scant 1/4" I will just use the regular foot and mark a scant 1/4" mark with masking tape, but not all the time.

LOL. That's cute.

1/4 inch foot, walking foot, and regular foot (without the guide) for when I don't want 1/4". I used to also use the BSR, but not I use the longarm for quilting.
