Housekeeper 742 model

Just went up in the attic and brought down this Housekeeper 742 machine that I bought from my Mom right after I got married. That would be about 38 years ago. I did a search on the Board here and just didn't find anything. Would anyone know what year this was made in or any other info? I just remember that it would sew through anything. I made my boys heavy coats with a wool blanket for a lining and it went right thru it. I want to get it cleaned and serviced so I can use it sewing purses, etc. Thank you for any info.

Is that the name on the plate in the back of the machine or underneath? Or just on the front? Picture?

Here is a picture of the machine. There are no labels on the back just the one on the front.

Wow that one is KOOL! It is for sure after WWII. Other than that who knows. It is very generic. A generic manual may help some: http://www.dontai.com/wp/images/imperial-535-manual.pdf
You will want to clean it and oil it. Plenty of info on QB for you there. Here is a link for other Japanese zig zag machines from that era: http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...s-t207877.html - this might be of help

Thank you. I do have the manual as I bought it from my Mom right after I got married. My husband is an electrician and was concerned about some of the things he found so he is checking it out. I am anxious to get it cleaned and oiled so i can use it.
