I joined the statewide quilters guild tonight. They meet locally near me. I was nervous about going, but had been told that they do have one other man in the guild (and he's actually one of the guild leaders), so that helped nudge me towards joining. I was warming greeted by several of the members (there were about 50 present), and I even won one of the door prizes (a book). :) Saw some absolutely stunning quilts during the show and tell, so it really inspired me. The guest speaker during the program spoke on quilt appraisals, which was very interesting. I'm glad I got up the nerve to venture in, I think it'll be good.

So glad you had a positive experience. The win was surely a sign! Perhaps, now you have made the leap other fellas may join too. I am sure they too will be inspired by your work, and your quilting journey will be enriched by meeting with like-minded craftspeople.

I am excited for you  Wish I had the nerve to join, or even look into joining a group . Keep us posted

Glad you had a good experience. I really like my guild, Sunshine Quilters. Don't always enjoy the speakers, but realize that I can learn something from all of them.
We have several quilters of the male persuasion in my guild and they make some great quilts. I glad they participate. :D |
Congratulations Eddie! I'm glad ou enjoyed yourself and felt right at home.

Oh Eddie I'm so happy for you. I joined a guild a few months ago and love it. Quilters are such nice people!
