Stabilizer Organizer
If you use stabilizer - how do you organize it? I am trying to find something for my new studio.
|
somewhere on the QB, i had seen that someone use one of those close shoe hangers... the ones with a single vertical panel with loops on each side to put the shoes [stabilizer]
|
I use a wine rack that sits on a leftover table, but I have seen over the door shoe holders that would work also, like this http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/stor...tegoryId=12213

Wine racks are really wonderful. I have a bar room in this house (but I may be moving soon) .. and after (if) I move, I'm going to look on Craigslist for some sort of wine rack to hold rolls of stabilizer.
|
mine are all rolled up loosely on their own shelf with a tag(a piece of painter's tape), stating what they are, (fusible or non), brand, etc.
I also keep specialty fabrics like heat resistant, rubberized, etc. on the same shelf. |
I use two wire hangers meant for kitchen foil, wax paper etc. I hung one on either side of my cutting and marking station in my sewing room. Each rack holds up to 4 rolls of something. In my case various stabilizers for both sewing and embroidery. They were probably not more than a couple of dollars apiece either at the dollar general store or Walmart. I used cup hooks that screwed into the wooden dresser that I use as a cutting/marking slash storage area. It was one of those dressers that had legs. I had my husband cut the legs off and that makes it just the right height for rotary cutting .

Mine are in a trunk but I have been looking at yard sales for a wine rake for the last month .

Love the one with a picture frame. Someone was very creative using their peg board.

Here is one i made.

Love the idea of the shoe rack. They have them in WAlmart for $5. Easier for me to hang them on a closet door. Shoe racks I've seen are clear and vertical. Would be easy to read the type of stabilizer. Maybe will get a couple!
