Quilting/school supplies
 

I use a child's pencil box to cart around quilting supplies like thread and needles etc for taking projects on the go. And I know many of us use Elmer's washable school glue in our quilting. But I'm wondering if anyone else uses school supplies for quilting? I'm seeing back to school sales ads already and maybe now is the time to stock up on these useful items. What school supplies do you use that maybe I haven't thought of so I can be on the lookout for them while they are on sale? I'm thinking of picking up some of those little stickies with the arrows to help me mark pressing directions. What else might I need to watch for?

I get quad ruled composition books at WM. Last year I got the left overs from back-to-school sales in October for $1. I have EQ7, but I still like to sketch my ideas in pencil to start. I have them all over the house in case inspiration strikes.
Colored Pencils too!

Fine line pencils, zippered pouches, little photo pouches for carrying fabric swatches and index cards with info. Don't forget to stock up on photo memory storage devices- SD cards, flash drives, and of course batteries!

My protractor, french curve, T- square, crayons, colored pencils, coloring books, composition books, graph paper, chalk and a hall pass.

One of my favorites...the disposable mechanical pencils...usually 12 to a pack. They are great for marking cuz they don't really get dull - and the leads are so narrow you can get a nice thin line.
A "hall pass" Ube Quilting???? :D now that's one thing i have NOT seen at Walmart.

I love the plastic pencil boxes. I have one or two for each my sewing machines and I keep my sewing machine feet, bobbins, brushes, and other machine accessories in them.

I also prefer the mechanical pencils. You always get a nice thin line and never have to use the pencil sharpener!!

I also like the plastic pencil boxes. They are so convenient for carrying my hand stitching quilting supplies. It will hold needles, thread, thimble, pins, small pr scissors, a 3" x 3" quilting ruler, pen/pencil and still have plenty of room for a baggie filled with prepared quilt squares waiting to be sewn.

I have a box for each of my projects. It fits right in my purse so I can just grab one and go. Works great for cross stitch supplies/threads too!

Me too! I also use them for small cross stitch projects and hand sewing projects. While working on my GFG quilt, I use both the pencil box and the plastic shoe boxes.
