Has anyone been bothered by this ??

I think it is spooky to be reading a thread here and then an ad pops up that is in regards to the thread. Just was posting a reply on T-shirt quilts about how I used lightweight Pellon, and instantly, an ad for Pellon appeared at the top of the page. I am using Firefox and I have set up my options to NOT be followed. I have notice this happening more and more. Is there no more privacy anymore???

Not on the internet, the only way to get rid of those ads, as far as I know, is to go into your computer and delete your cookies every night.

Sometimes the ads do lead to a good deal. It's a bit unnerving, but I just assume everything on the internet is being watched by someone and act accordingly.

Just one of those small things I just ignore.

Simple really. If type a key word then the ad pops up that has the key word associated to it.

A few weeks ago, I was on Amazon, and added a sewing machine to my shopping cart. Then I decided not to buy so I deleted it from the cart. Now, I see an ad for that same machine popping up everywhere.

I agree with Lisa. Always be aware that, on the internet, nothing is private.

All I have to do is look at an item on any web site and that item follows me around from site to site. The part that bothers me is when you pay for something on line. I always look for something that says I am entering a secure portion of the website. It makes PayPal look more and more attractive because it minimizes the times you have to give someone your confidential information.

Hopefully, your version of Firefox has this option. Go to Tools in menu bar, then to Options, then to the Content tab. At the very top, you can check the box to block pop up windows. Don't forget to click OK at the bottom.

Yes indeed. i looked at the tee shirt someone posted and everywhere I go now the tee is there.

I have Firefox and never get pop ups. I do have my settings to destroy cookies and add blocker. Maybe you just have to change your settings.
peace
