I am stuck on this comfort quilt and would like to hear from some of you to help me decide which way to go with this.
I am posting two photos, one with matching sashing and centers in the blocks and the other with solid centers in the blocks and the first sashing.
Another option, not shown, is to put a narrower sashing in a solid to match the solid center around each block and skip the print sashing. If I do this, would I need another solid sashing to go between all the blocks to tie it all together, or would it be ok with just the many colors adjoining one another. I would add a border to the outside of the center section either way.

I won't use black, though, as this is a comfort quilt, and I avoid that unless it is requested. Smiles

I prefer the solid colored centers. It gives the viewer's eye a place to rest.

I agree, more solids. If that were my quilt, I'd even consider solid sashing.

I like the solid colors.

A single color solid sashing, or a different one for each block to match the center?

I like them both. Use both together and mix them up randomly. I like the sashing shown.

I like the bright solid centers. With the light centers, some of the strips kind of blend in.

I like the solid centers, and would go with solid sashing as well. I would try the turquoise in the centre of the lower right-hand block. You might be better off with a darker or lighter sashing, though, to provide tonal contrast. Maybe a rich chocolate brown? Or a light lemony yellow? Navy with tiny white dots? I have to audition sashing to pick.

It will be a lovely quilt, whatever you choose!

I like the solid better.

I much prefer the light sashing and centers. That combination gives me peace. The other is more lively and not as quiet and calming. If you know the person this is going to, you might wonder do they want to relax or start thinking about getting up and moving past whatever they are struggling with.
