How many of you have an acrylic extension
 

table for your sewing machine? Have decided to get one. Would like to know where you had purchased from and if you are satisfied.

Mine came with the machines. But I have been thinking about getting one for my FW. I have a small Europro that came with an acrylic table and it is easier to use than the FW for that reason. So I am hoping to hear if someone has one for a FW.

Yes I do and I wouldn't be without it! Using it this way My machine is on an old typewriter table! Makes it just like an inset machine! I bought the Sew Steady years ago from (I think) Overstock? for about $70!! Seeing prices now I'm deloghted that I did! (those are my rulers stored underneath)

I just used the insert that I bought from a Bernina dealership. It is metal and works out pretty good.

I have a no name sewing table and wanted a clear insert to use with my older Pfaff. I searched on ebay and found one that fit my model machine but was a little too big to fit in the hole in my table. So, my dh routered out the "too much" in the table part and the insert fit right in. I paid around $30 for it. Maybe you can check there first but no matter where you get one, I would not want to be without mine. My Bernina already had one when I bought it used or I would have bought one for that machine/table set up also.

I have one for my FW, and a oak table topper I got at the Paducah quilt show, it has cut out lined with felt that the FW sits right into. Love them!

Yes I bought one from a gal in California who makes them custom. A cottage industry per say. She did a great job on it and I saved about fourty dollars buying from her.

All that being said, I love the extension while quilting. It gives the support to machine quilt I needed.

I had an extension, until I broke it after maybe 3 years. Then I invested in a table with inserts. It folds up and is EZ to take along.

You might want to check with your local glass company. They may have the plexiglass/lexan to make one to your specifications.

I ordered mine for my Slant O Matic at Sew Steady, also. Good enough price and it's wonderful. Shipped fast!
