You know you're tired when ....
I'm birthing a quilt and I just sewed it all together and went to turn it inside right and realized I put the batting between the two layers ...
Time for a nap and then I'll take it all apart ... SHHEEESHHHHH |
OMG.....i've done that too !!!! So sorry...i KNOW how frustrating that is !!!! Good thing is, i only did it once....i've double and triple checked myself every since !!
|
at least it's only 40x56 inches and not a king size ... I'd probably cut the whole seam and just start again! Actually, that is a pretty tempting thought LOL
|
Been there, done that. I think I would cut off the seam and just make it slightly smaller. Enjoy your nap

Oh good ness, you know your tired when you've sewn your shirt to your quilt!
|
I made a very small sample of a birthing quilt, so I can compare it to the one I'm working on......you can guess why I went to the trouble of making the "mock-up". ;D

I was up late goofing around with a new sewing machine trying to get used to it.
My eyes aren't that good. I was having some difficulty putting the bobbin in place. Suddenly the whole area(hook assembly?)where the bobbin goes collapsed under my fingers and the bobbin was stuck in there at a crazy angle. I almost cried. I thought I broke it. Next morning I opened the retaining clips, let everything fall and reassembled and it was fixed! I think what happened is when I was fumbling around trying to put the bobbin in I knocked a retaining clip loose. I was just too tired to see what the problem was until the next morning. |
I have a 3 mistake limit. When I make my 3rd mistake, it's time to quit.

Amazing how the dawn of a new day helps us resolve a lot of quilting problems.

ha ha Marion, join the club! How big is the unsewing project?
I solved a few of these tricky techniques by making small samples and have them pinned to my design wall. Things I don't use all the time like birthing a quilt which I can never remember how to layer or sometimes even what it is called. Another one is the binding technique where the ends are sewn together. I can never remember which way to flip the ends to sew them. I Do a lot of machine lettering on bindings and keep a sample of that too 'cause I can never remember the placement even though I do it a lot. Having the samples right there in front of me saves me so much time not having to look them up. When ever I start one of these things I always refresh my memory before I begin. I need all the help I can get.:D Put on a great movie or music and sit and relax as you unsew. Call it down time and enjoy. peace |
