Have you ever made anything using 1 1/2" strips?

I'm pondering this for pixelated heart blocks-pink mixture on black background with maybe some variegated pink thread for quilting.

Do you guys think it will be too hard to cut and work with 1 1/2" strips?

I'm a little intimidated by the thought but it fits my vision and QAYG method

Thank you

I use 1.5 inch strips for log cabins. I like the narrow strips as the colors merge and create a very pleasing effect.

Is that made from 1 1/2" strips?

It looks good.

I know people say using strips is easy but cutting them and cutting again and matching up kind of makes me nervous...

If my memory is correct, I think that Eileen uses 1.5" strips in some of her Bargello quilt patterns. I was concerned at first but had no problem with the width.

I have done a couple that used mostly 1.5" strips, but mixed them with larger HST and other patches.
Bonnie Hunter uses lots of 1.5" strips. I didn't think it was too bad working with them, however, I do have a 1.5" strip cutter die and the patches were strip pieced, so I wasn't working with 1/5" squares.

Also when assembling strips press open or to one side or mixture of both depending on block assembly?

I have used 1 1/2 inch strips in several quilt. I made a mini 9-patch that ended up being about 11x14. Can't you get that width in precuts, like jelly rolls but smaller?

I just finished 4 lap size quilts using 1.75" strips. I starched all my fabrics before cutting so that helped with stretching.

There used to be a product called a Honeybun. They are no longer available from quilt shops, but retired fabric lines can be found on EBay and other re-sale venues.
I have used the narrow strips in several quilts. I didn't find they were difficult to work with. I always pressed to one side.
