Original 3D Maze #3!

I was so excited to show it to you I haven't quilted it yet! I really thought this maze was going to be close to square. As you can see, it definitely is not. It's more a lap quilt size and the next one will be square. Again, this is an original maze not one from any other source. Any resemblance to another maze is purely, well, amazing.

When I was auditioning fabrics, The colorful be-speckled batik with the black background beheld beautifully with the black wall fabric and the beautiful bubblegum colored fabric for top the wall. (It's late and alliteration becomes me at the moment.) When I cut it up into smaller segments, it lost the color and looked rather dull in spots. Yikes! Oh yes, a nice thread color can be quilted into it to brighten it up. So, once the quilt is finished, the walking path will be more distinct.

I do love the walking path fabric. It looks fabulous up close. I found this batik very sewing friendly. I don't have a lot of batiks, but think I should remedy that. The black moda fabric was easy to use. Both these fabrics didn't fray and ironed nice and flat. The colors are very saturated in this quilt and I hope one of my "in the future" grands will love it. My young adults are enamored with these maze quilts and I am sure their future children will be, too.

Thanks for looking. I love the ideas all of you suggest for how to use the mazes, what kind of motifs to try, and what sizes to make. This is a very nice and encouraging community of people!

You are so funny! If all else fails, you could become a poet. Love these, and plan to make one once I get some time.
