My First <3
1 Attachment(s)
Good Morning everyone!
This past weekend I was sorting through my stash and found that I had enough to make a baby sized quilt by Jaybird Patterns called "Chopsticks"
This was my first "real" size quilt top I've done! And it didn't turn out too badly! You can see that I definitely need help matching my points up, but the pattern was pretty easy to follow and the ruler that this pattern needs made cutting a breeze. I enjoyed working on this from start to finish! Well, almost finished LOL I have to sandwich and bind and quilt.
This was a total confidence booster for me. I'm still not great at perfect lines, making fancy stitches from my machine, and even sewing straight :p But I got through it, and with minimal "reverse sewing" (using the seam ripper) and only one change of fabric due to me losing a fight with my rotary cutter. I'm a total klutz.
So, here it is. Any tips, critiques, and advice appreciated but be gentle...I'm not experienced at this at all  I do see where I could have laid out the blocks differently to spread the colors around, and the trimming along the sides to create the half triangles could have been much more exact too.
Have a great day everyone! Soon I will be on to my next pattern, and maybe larger than baby sized :o
