Yea! You did it! Those are fun, aren't they? You did a great job on it, too, I really like the fabrics you picked out for it. Sheila sent me some squares of that same window fabric in the doll quilt swap she sent me. You certainly seem to have mastered the pattern quickly!

Well, it wasnt real quickly!!! I cannot do it the way the instructions were printed. So I did it My Way(do you hear Frank Sinatra singing?) Oh, Eddie, I read where you play some instruments. So do I. Piano, guitar, alittle "fiddle" ...I cut my teeth on a guitar neck.
Hey,do you think the little hexagons would be big enough for a "mug mat" for Christmas tuck ins??? My coffee mug sits great on one. Im thinking to stick in with cards for my friends ... |
I couldn't do it the way the instructions said, either, so like you I did it my own way like in that tutorial I posted here. I think we quilters are probably a pretty adaptive people. :)
I do play several instruments, piano, guitar, mandolin, and my current passion is mountain dulcimer. I'm not great at any of them, but I still play on. :D I think these hexagons would be great for mug mats. You could even do a little patchwork piece and put it in the window of the hex. I think your friends would love to get one in their cards! |
Great idea!! Thanks!!!

Very Nice!!! Love those fabrics :D :D :D

I like that. Those would make great stocking stuffers...like the idea of using it as a 'mug mat'.

Oh that is so cute!! I have to try it some day.
I love your fabric. It is what I'm using in my bow tie quilt. |

We are our own worst critic, and as long as you are having fun and enjoy playing them, that's all that matters. My dad plays guitar and bass fiddle. Mug mats are a wonderful idea Riversong. You did an awesome job on yours. Love the fabrics you used. Thanks for sharing your picture and idea. |
