Big stitches

I had about 3 big stitches while FMQing my rose before I got into my FMQ rhythm. I don't like to remove FMQing since it can leave needle holes so I just "pretend" hand stitch the big stitches. I use the same thread with a hand needle and go up one down on the middle of the stitch and tie and bury my threads on the back. It looks just like a regular stitch and I will use my easy thread needle to bury these threads.[ATTACH=CONFIG]545416[/ATTACH]

Looks great. Is this the same you used to glue baste and used the noodle to roll the fabric? Saw my neighbor yesterday and told her about the noodle for glue basting. Went to her house after she bought one and glue. She was thrilled.

Yes, this the same one I glue basted yesterday. I ironed it mostly dry yesterday but waited overnight just to be sure it was good and dry.

Makes me think of something that happened to me not too long ago. I had a knot in the back that did not bury. I tied a bit of thread around it and made it pop in. Now, when I have the thread snap on the front, I do the same thing. It's neat how we manage to fix stuff so our work looks better.

The holes left will disappear when washed and dried.

I agree with Jingle. I do it all the time & they always close up after laundering. But your way is great, too! So nice to have different choices when quilting. Not every quilt is meant to be washed so options are important. Thanks for sharing, Tartan!

We learn a new trick every day. Yesterday the pool noodle for glue basting and today crafty stitches.
