Scraps ... Never ending scraps!
1 Attachment(s)
I have so many scraps I could scream! So this is my next project up on my design wall. There are actually 7 blocks across, but my design wall isn't wide enough to expand the last two blocks. I'm determined to use up my scraps. The pattern has been on my bucket list & I have plenty of scraps to make it. Yeah!

What is it about scraps....the more we sew them, the more we accumulate....Love your start....saw a similar design on Pinterest but used selvages and 2 values of aqua ....keep us posted

It is going to be lovely but be warned, your scrap bin won't get much smaller. I have done Bonnie Hunter's Spiderweb in this layout but I am intrigued by the new offset Spiderweb rows she did last year.

You are singing my song sister! I ran across a cute string heart pattern the other day I thought I might try. I also have bought a plastic crazy quilt starting templet that might give me inspiration to use some in that way. I also want to begin appliqueing more tops, that might use some of those scraps too. I have three large bins worth to use up. I sure hope you get lots of those crazy scraps used up.

I know what you mean.......I'm making a king size quilt out of fabric scraps, crumbs, and unused cut pieces. I'm at about 250 5"squares and I think I havent even dented the stash.

Looks great. One strategy that has worked for ME in scrap reduction was to take a couple of days and cut down any unusable portion of scraps, making standard shapes in the process and bagging ones of the same size and shape. Since what I am most likely to use is 2.5" squares, I now trim scraps to that size where that is efficient use of the fabric. I have a bin by my machine for this size. I often find that one of those is just what I want in a project, but also, when the bin has enough for a sandwich baggie, I bag it and put it in a scrap drawer. I also save, to my computer, scrappy patterns I like for later use.
