Stab me through the HEART!
:hunf:
Long story how I got to be trolling the Wichita, KS Craigslist looking for sewing machines, but somebody had listed an absolutely gorgeous vintage Domestic - looked to be in pretty good shape, complete with analog chrome dials - CURBSIDE. No phone number on the ad or I would have offered to pay them to hold it for me until I could drive up there. Not to mention that by the time I saw it, the ad was 6 hours old. Seriously. I just kept saying: they put it out by the CURB. By the CURB!! |
Are we talking curb as in side line of the pavement? Out doors? Maye it was only for the pictures, daylight is good then.
|
Oh, no... curbside, as in outside, and free for the taking! LOL! I don't know which I'm more offended by - the fact that someone had discarded this lovely piece of machinery or that they didn't give me the chance to buy it! :p
|
LOL oh, I see. I was worried it was left out side and it might start to rain. I hope it ends up with someone who cares for it. I have noticed some old Domestic models too, roatary hook, some are in a brown crinkle finish with chromed details.

we need a picture here of "Kirby" the curbside machine.......

Oh, there is a recent thread on this, but I think that's one of White's early zigzaggers, possibly made in Germany, or at least based on a Gritzner model (or something related), it takes cams behind the lid in the middle there. Either way I would have jumped for it, not sure about the relation between White and Domestic though.

Glad you were able to get it.

So sorry you missed out on that prize. I sure hope someone else who knows its value was able to snatch it up, though.
