Brother I6000

My daughter is looking at getting a Brother I6000. Any input - worth the money or not? Anyone have one - love it or hate it? Thanks!!

Brother has good reviews, not sure on this machine. Have you checked you tube, they normally have videos on features, etc. Also Brother has videos on their machines. Just google it.

I just got the cs6000i (think its the same based off a google search). So far I like it. No problems with it so far. Had a 20+ish year old Kenmore before. I like the speed control. The fact that it stops with the needle down. The feet on the extender table have a tendency to fold in when working on a large quilt, that't the only "complaint" I have with it. Most of my "dislikes" are more of the learning a new machine rather than a problem with how it works. Use one machine for so long you become "old friends" :-). If you know specific about what she is looking for it to do or dislikes about a machine I'd be happy to give more specific details about certain features. I say its a great "entry level" machine.

It works fine, but has a very small throat, only about 5" or so...so...depending on what she wants to do with it, this may be something to think about. It's a great, lightweight machine to tote places, and to piece on...but I would never attempt to quilt with it. I do love the speed control, and it comes with a lot of feet...mine has lasted for a good 5 years now, I've done a ton of piecing on it, lug it to classes, all over. It is so light, that when I hurt my back and was on bedrest, I could put it on a breakfast tray and piece on it!
