Update on Bargello with monster face in it.

I posted a picture earlier this week of a Bargello I made that looked like a monster face. I was really disappointed in it. Many of you lovely quilters offered encouraging words, as well as suggestions that might help me like my quilt.

After deciding I could live with it if I turned it 90 degrees, I put the borders on it. However, when I was finished, I still wasn't pleased. (just wasn't)

Then I went back and read a suggestion from LyndaOH. I liked her suggestion, removed the borders, rearranged things....and no more monster face. Now I like my quilt. (Thanks again, Lynda!!)

Here are two pictures. The first is the monster face view. (once you see a double eyed monster with a frowny face, it is hard to not see that....)The second is the revised top. Now all I have to do is get those borders back on. :) I took the borders off in one piece, and the new top is 1/2 inch smaller all the way around....so I have some readjusting to do. Always something new to learn, right?

Again, thanks LyndaOH!!!

Looks great and I agree with you. Looks more like facets of a diamond. Anxious to see your finish!

Beautiful! LyndaOH's recommendation was a great idea, and you managed it very well.

I like that layout also.

Well worth the time and effort to take it apart.

Totally agree! I was the one who suggested she turn it 90 degrees. I thought it looked kind of southwestern that way but I much prefer the revamped quilt. Kudos to you Dina, for putting in the effort to make the quilt something you are much happier with. The new design emerging from the old quilt is much more interesting. And you are right, once something has been seen it is hard, if not impossible, to "unsee" it.

That looks great. The other arrangement didn't bother me, but this one is much nicer.
