Seam Align and/or Fabric Folding Pen

I'm taking a class in a few weeks on how to fine turn accuracy when doing miniatures.

I got the supply list this morning which includes two new to me products

#1 is just listed as Seam Align with no brand but says to bring it rather than Roxanne's glue baste.

#2 is listed as Clover Fabric Folding Pen

Have any of you actually used these two products?

I googled for a product called Seam Align and nothing came up, but here is a link to the folding pen on Amazon.

The supply list also included a product called Terial Magic which Ms. Google explains as double double starch

the only thing I could get to come up for Seam Align was at the shop holding the class. Out of stock :)
I'm hoping for some hands on experiences.

I'm thinking these three products are going to show me the way to precise piecing

i'm really curious about the Seam Align also

did you try contacting the class shop?

Here's a review that I found regarding Terial Magic ... interesting.
http://www.crafttestdummies.com/prod...-terial-magic/

I've seen the folding pen demonstrated, but didn't really see the advantage in it.
However, if the demo had been more focused to an end use, perhaps it would have made more sense.

Disappointing that the store offering the class does not have the Seam Align that you need.

This really annoys me, when an LQS gives a supply list ... and then does not have the product!
Seems like very poor planning on their part.
Or maybe even lack of interest and commitment to their customers/students!

I agree, QuiltE. It does seem like poor planning to say nothing of a lost business opportunity. I'd ask them there if they are going to get the product before the class or where you can buy it. If they put it on their supply list the least they can do it help you find it. You also might ask if there is another product that can be substituted.

Edit: I just went and looked at the quilt shop website. They have it listed under "Stabilizers and Adhesives" I"m betting its some kind of glue to help the seams from slipping. Maybe you could just show up with Elmers washable?

Second Edit: I just went and looked at their website. They have large refill bottles available. It's says it's a fabric glue. It looks like it's something the shop came up with. You need the small bottle to use it apparently. Something about the metal tip. I'd just take some Elmer's and be done with it.

CashsMom ... Thanks! Glad to know I am not the only one thinking this way. To me, if a shop is going to put it on the supply list, the least they could do would be to hold back from the sales floor, enough for the class members, at least until the class starts.

KalamaQ did mention that the supply list had specifically said, not Roxanne's Glue Baste.
Here's a link to that product description
http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...eeze+bottle.do
I had it demonstrated for a specific need. I didn't like the blobs it left, once dried. They told me that it disappeared when washed ... but when I did not want to wash it in the immediate future, I didn't like the look it was leaving me with.

I've also seen the folding pen demonstrated, and it was focused to an end use, but I still didn't see the advantage in it. Or, perhaps I should say, I didn't see that it was worth what they were charging for it.

I'm another who is surprised that the store is out of stock of an item they're requiring. One of the main purposes of offering the class is to promote and sell products that the store carries! Hopefully they will get more stock in before the class actually starts.

Sharyn, is the class through Momma Made It, or somewhere else?
