Have you ever noticed...

Have you ever noticed that you can tell when the QB is slow, (fewer new threads) how many of the old, old threads start popping back up? I spend part of my lunch hour looking at the posts and started to comment on a search for a pattern only to realize the thread was started years ago! I suppose it doesn't really matter in most case, but I just wondered if I'm the only one who watches the thread dates?

no, i notice them too. i wander in and out of here on the board at various times of the day. need to rest the back or just need a break from workin' on the place here. my home is my full time job of landscaping, irrigation, maintenance etc. the Board is one of my fave retreats from my full time job :D
i have tried to go thru old threads at times .. but never get far, so i enjoy seeing what others have found and brought back to the surface. especially old tutes, older threads in the vintage machines, and especially pics of quilts! :o

I think it's because someone recently replied to that post. Check the date of recent post.

Sometimes the "old" stuff is more interesting that the newer posts.

But it does pay to check the original post date.

one of the first things i look at is the post date!

I always check the date of the posts. I have noticed that a lot of the old posts had many more comments and viewings then current Quiltingboard postings. I think a lot of members have moved on to Facebook and other sites.

Do you have any theories as to why this might be happening?

summertime, vacation, and more outdoor time for me anyway and less quilting time

Same for me!

Theory on resurrecting old threads - someone is doing a search on a particular topic and an old thread comes up.

Theory on why people move on to face book - none.
