I just aqquired a 306w anybody know any thing about this machine ,it has some wierd controls on it.

The weird controls are for the stitch width and cam function. It's a nice model, and if the internal cleated belt is intact it's worth the time and effort to fix it up. It can take a bit of time if you need a new belt, but replacments turns up now and then. Some machcines only need a bit of oil and it's running fine again, others need quite a bit of oiling and cleaning too free up at all. Model 320 have even more weird controls, with the built in stitche patterns and sort of key board selection buttons on top. Make sure you use a Singer 206X13, it's absolutely a must or you will cause damage to the machine. There are new bobbin cases for these with a larger groove or indentation, allowing for regular 15x1 needles to be used.

The 320 is rarely seen here, we have the 319.

Thanks ,I didn't know about the needles . Its working pretty good ,I'll give it a good oiling. Just needs a light shield which I found online.

You might search ‘quilting board singer 319 needles’ and find all kinds of discussions. The 319 uses the same needles.
