Cleaning Black Stovetop

We have a new Gas stove. No matter what product I use, streaks are left on the black cooktop. Help

I don't have a Black stove but I googled these suggestions:

I clean mine with bar keeper's friend [similar to bon ami]. it sometimes left streaks, but i just 'polished' it with a clean kitchen towel.

Are you talking about a glass covering the burners? I have a black glass top on my electric stove, but I haven't heard about that on a gas stove. My dd has a gas stove, but it doesn't have a cover over the burners. I can tell you how I clean mine, but it may not work the same way as yours. Either way... it's only an appliance designed to help you. We don't worry too much about streaks on stuff. We are too busy having fun and quilting!! :)

I had a gray speckled glass stovetop & loved it. So easy to maintain, then we moved and I made a big mistake & left my appliances in the house. The few gray speckled tops out there don’t have matching refrigerators so I bought black glass. High maintenance ! I’ve resigned to the fact I just can’t make it look great. Wish I could have a few words with the person who designed the black ones. :(

My belief is a man came up with all the black appliance, big and little. Because a woman would know black shows dust and everything else more than white of off white.
My Daughter has a black glass top electric stove and she buys some kind of cleaner in a bottle for it. You can buy it where dish soap is sold. She cleans it everytime she uses it stove always looks good.

I thought you could use windex on any glass stove, no matter the color. But don't hold me to it because I like a white stove. :D

I had one and I would wash it with warm soapy water and then I literally had to "buff" I with a clean dry cloth with my other hand. Only thing that got rid of streaks. Oh and I only worried about that when we were showing the house to sell it.

I have an electric glass top range that I've had for 21yrs--was told not to use anything that could scratch it or glass cleaner (cause of residue burning) and instead to use a ceramic cleaner and a razor blade scrapper--works to get all the grime off and then I have to wipe with a moist cloth to get rid of streaks.

I have a black gas range also. I strongly dislike it! You do have to buff it once you clean it. I use a white kitchen towel, and rub and buff like crazy. As long as I don't cook anything it stays shiny and clean!!
