Carmel Layer Cake Recipe?

Please help. I'm looking for a recipe for a caramel/brown sugar flavored layer cake with burnt sugar frosting. I saw a recipe awhile back, but now I can't find it. :( I have a birthday cake project coming up soon.

Excuse the spelling error/typo in the heading.

Look for a recipe for Penuche Candy. It's a brown sugar/butter based candy that can be used as frosting. It has to be spread on hot then when it cools, it becomes fudge consistency. I grew up with a carrot cake with that kind of frosting.

Oh...that sounds lovely! I grew up with Penuche during the holidays and I haven't tasted that in years. I think that it is similar to what I'm looking for. I'll scout around for it...thanks!

Now you have my attention and I have probably gained 10 pounds just reading about this.

Could it be Kentucky Derby Caramel Cake which was posted around the first of September? Don't know how to copy and paste it here but if you do a search for the recipe on this site it should come up. It is for a three layer cake with caramel frosting. Good luck!
