Pellon cotton batting

Good afternoon,
I have a question about batting. I am using pellon cotton batting. You can quilt 10” apart. It says it shrinks 3-5%. Is that true? I have Dream cotton will shrinks 1-3 %. The dream batting you can quilt 8” apart. I am doing a QAYG and I have 4 blocks are 28” square and 2 are 19 1/2 “ by 28” wide. I am short on the pellon batting. I want to know if I can use both batting?
Thanks for any help.

The shrinkage on the Pellon is true. My quilts usually will shrink by 3% to 4%. I quilt closer than what is recommended. I usually will quilt about 1 to 2 inches apart. I don't know about mixing batting.

Yes, the Pellon batting does shrink up to 5%. I definitely would quilt it closer then 10" apart! I quilt mine about 1" apart. I wouldn't try mixing the two battings.

I wet the Pellon and dry it in a hot dryer to get some of the shrinking out of the way since I don't like my quilts really wrinkled.
