Wondering what the difference is between strings of regular Christmas lights and the Led ones. We need new outdoor lights and wanted to know if anyone using them this year? May in Jersey

All I have heard is they are more energy efficient and cost more to purchase

How do they do in cold weather?

There was something in the news about a traffic signal with LED lights- I think it was that they didn't warm up enough to melt the snow and maintenance people had to get up there and clear the snow off the lights

I LOVE LED lights! Their colour is much richer and deeper than the traditional lights. They're great on trees just because they don't heat up! We have all LED, in and outside. This year I left my outdoor lights up all year (!!) and they didn't fade a bit. The energy savings are worthwhile. If you buy just a few now, wait until after Christmas when they go on sale and stock up then.

Around here we can't even buy the old style lights anymore, but that's okay - I'm already sold.

I think that they are much prettier than the old style tiny bulbs and I heard that they last longer too :D:D:D

I don't like the LED lights. They don't look very Christmasy to me. I guess I'm old fashioned but I like the old style light bulbs and the bright colored lights.

Thanks, I have noticed some outdoor lights are a different richer color. Will see if I can get some Leds at the after Christmas sales. May

I love our Led and stay cooler and take less power. We have them on the outside of our house.

I am in the market for some, but will wait until the after sales now.

We have all LED lights outside. We leave them on all the time. The colors are "true"-red reds, blue blues, etc. They don't fade and stay cool. The cost is much less to run them and they come in different sizes and styles. I took all my old lights to the thrift store--won't go back to those. Good idea to wait for after Christmas sale-if there are any left. Tried to get some more last year and they were all gone. Merry merry Christmas!!
