I"m restarting a cleaning business and need help. Where would you look if you were looking for a cleaning lady. I have posted a ad in newspapers with only five calls in three months. Picked up three people. Would you think going door th door would be ok. I have posted in places that have boards up in store. Give me your ideas.

What about a local community centers? Maybe places where new moms would go?
I know Lauren is wanting to bring in a cleaning lady and was asking a couple of the nurses at the hospital.

Word of mouth. Do you have friends that you can let know that you are doing this. Are you active in a Church or quilting group of some other group of people where you can let them know about your business?
My cleaning lady is from my church, is involved in my Small Group study and was sharing how she was trying to find clients. I had not even considered that we afford one when DH brought it up. I totally trust her she's a sweetie.
If I was going to find one another way it would have been asking friends who they use or recommend.
Hope you can find lots of new clients soon!!

After I had Makayla my grandma paid someone to help clean my house and such for a couple of weeks. She told me to find whoever I wanted and she would pay for it. I just looked online on Craiglist.

You might want to check with your local senior adult community center as well. They may let you post a flier on their bulletin board. Some seniors may not be able to clean their houses as well as they used to due to physical limitations, so may welcome the idea of someone coming in once a week to help with the cleaning.

I would go by recommendations also. I would NOT trust any ol jane off Craig's list in my home.

If you have a janitoral/cleaning supply company in your area, let them know about your business. Most do commercial cleaning and won't mind giving you referrals to domestic jobs.

Word of mouth works best.

If I wanted a cleaning lady I would sure want a reference from a friend. Can you email or send out cards to old clients saying you are back in business? That could really help. Good luck

You're looking for employees, rather than someone to be your personal cleaning lady, right?

Let the Career One Stop office know you're looking to hire. You could even let the nearest Welfare office know.
