I think that it is so great that so many people who quilt are also really into their pets, dogs, cats, birds, horses and all types of animals. Even those who do not own an animal tend to be good to other's animals. Is there a quilting/pet gene that we all have in common?

I have found that Quilters are the most caring and giving people on earth. They will do anything for others and animals.

Yes, it's the love of all things soft, warm and cuddly, be it animal or quilt. It's the Aniquil gene.

I think there must be. Maybe it's because we have such kind hearts because we make quilts and give them to people for love and comfort, that it just spills over into our lives and we have pets. I also feed the wild birds and squirrels and this summer a mommy chipmunk and her baby. They are so cute. They come up on the deck and eat the corn that drops off the cob when the bluejays and squirrel take their fill. I don't know who enjoys watching them more, me or my cat Chloe. Chloe is an indoor cat only, so don't worry about her catching them. They are safe from her and have learned to eat on the deck even if she is there watching them.

You may be right. I have noticed there are lots of pets here.
