Just finished Backpack's for the grandkids and would like to put thier names on the back of them. I'm hunting a two inch letters to trace and apply using heat n bond. Everything I found on-line was to big or to hard to cut out. Any ideas where to find some simple & inexpensive stencils?

have you looked at Staples, office supply stores, Walmart, Kmart etc.

It is recommended that you not put a child's name on their backpacks, jackets, etc. A stranger could call them by name and if the child is young enough to not understand the danger, could easily think they know the person and believe anything they are told. I would think again, for safety's sake and not put their names on them--at least not on the outside. This is one of the things that is mentioned a lot on all of my embroidery lists.

I strongly agree with Ginaky. The names can be put inside a flap or somewhere else not quickly seen by others.

I agree. Anyone could call them by name then and they could be lured into someplace you don't want them to be. It's sad times we live in.

You can use Microsoft Word. It has many different letters. Just print out and trace on a window or lightbox.

Any word processing software program should work , you can make them any size ans style you want .

Also be careful where you put their names

Thanks for all the help. The pre-school asks that thier name be on them. That's why I'm putting them on the back so it will not show when they are wearing them.
